Baby Dedications

At LSWC, we believe every child is a precious gift from God. “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him” (Psalm 127:3). Baby Dedication is a special service where parents commit to raising their child in a Christ-centered home, asking for God’s guidance and the support of their church family.

Just as Hannah dedicated Samuel to the Lord, “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord” (1 Samuel 1:27–28), parents today bring their little ones before God in gratitude and surrender.

While this is not baptism, it is a meaningful step of faith. Families publicly declare their desire to guide their children toward Christ, trusting in the promise of Proverbs: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
